Installing LedgerPro is quick and easy. The LedgerPro installer automatically downloads and configures everything required, including Python, Git, PostgreSQL, and LedgerPro itself.

Step 1 – Download LedgerPro

Download the latest LedgerPro installer using the link below.

Save the file to your computer.

Step 2 – Choose the Installation Location

Before running the installer, move LedgerPro.bat to the location where you want LedgerPro to be installed.

For example:

C:\
D:\
E:\Software
Any folder of your choice

Important: The installer creates a folder named LedgerPro in the same location where LedgerPro.bat is placed.

Example 1

If you place the installer in:

D:\
 └── LedgerPro.bat

After installation:

D:\
 ├── LedgerPro.bat
 └── LedgerPro\

Example 2

If you place the installer in:

C:\Software\
 └── LedgerPro.bat

After installation:

C:\Software\
 ├── LedgerPro.bat
 └── LedgerPro\

We recommend placing the installer directly on the D: drive or inside a dedicated Software folder for easy access.

Step 3 – Run the Installer

Navigate to the location where you saved LedgerPro.bat.
Right-click LedgerPro.bat.
Click Run as Administrator.

The installation will begin automatically.

Step 4 – Windows Security Prompt

Windows may display a User Account Control (UAC) message.

Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?

Click Yes to continue.

Administrator permission is required to install the required software.

What Does the Installer Do?

The LedgerPro installer performs every required setup automatically.

No technical knowledge is required.

1. Python Installation

The installer first checks whether Python is already installed.

If Python is not available, it will automatically:

Download Python 3.12
Install Python
Configure the Windows PATH
Continue the installation automatically

If Python is already installed, the installer simply uses the existing installation.

2. Git Installation

Next, the installer checks for Git.

If Git is missing, it automatically:

Downloads the latest supported version
Installs Git
Configures Git for LedgerPro

If Git is already installed, this step is skipped.

3. PostgreSQL Installation

LedgerPro uses PostgreSQL as its database.

If PostgreSQL is not installed, the installer automatically:

Downloads PostgreSQL 17
Installs PostgreSQL
Creates the PostgreSQL service
Configures the database environment

Default Configuration

PostgreSQL Version: 17
Port: 5432
Default Password: postgres

If PostgreSQL already exists on your computer, the installer detects it automatically and continues without reinstalling it.

4. Downloads the Latest LedgerPro

The installer downloads the latest LedgerPro source files directly from our official repository.

This ensures every installation includes the newest features, bug fixes, and updates.

5. Creates the Python Virtual Environment

LedgerPro automatically creates its own isolated Python environment.

This keeps LedgerPro independent from other Python applications installed on your computer.

6. Installs Required Packages

The installer automatically installs every required Python package.

No manual commands are necessary.

Everything is configured automatically.

7. Configures the Database

The installer automatically creates all required database tables.

No database configuration is required from the user.

8. Starts LedgerPro

After installation is complete, LedgerPro automatically opens in your default web browser.

The application is now ready to use.

When the installation finishes successfully:

Python is installed (if required)

Troubleshooting

Windows Defender Shows a Warning

If Windows SmartScreen displays a warning:

Click More Info
Click Run Anyway

Installation Stops Unexpectedly

Please check the following:

Your Internet connection is working.
Antivirus software is not blocking the installer.
You are running the installer as Administrator.

Browser Does Not Open

If the browser does not open automatically, open any web browser and visit:

http://127.0.0.1:8000

Python Already Installed

No problem.

The installer detects your existing Python installation and uses it automatically.

Git Already Installed

Git will be detected automatically.

The installer skips this step.

PostgreSQL Already Installed

If PostgreSQL already exists, LedgerPro will use the existing installation.

No reinstallation is required.

Tips

Always run LedgerPro.bat as Administrator.
Keep your Internet connection active throughout the installation.
Do not close the Command Prompt window until the installation has completed.
Store LedgerPro.bat in the location where you want the LedgerPro folder to be created.
Avoid placing the installer inside temporary folders such as Downloads if you plan to delete that folder later.
